Description

The Kampfschwimmer Diver is based on the combat dive watch used by the Italian and German Navies during and right after WWII. Original Kampfschwimmer Divers were produced by Panerai using Rolex components such as the movement, case and crown sets.  Since Rolex was a British based company supporting the allies and Panerai was  forced to produce watches for the German military, they jointly decided to remove all branding and markings from the watch components.  The end result was a watch with “anonymous” dials.

The Fifty Five Fathoms Kampfschwimmer introduces a smaller 45mm Stainless Steel (316L) case size.  Powering the watch is a manual wind ST3600 movement (or ETA 6497) with 3-Days of power reserve similar to the original. The “California” dial originally prototyped by Rolex was meant to be an “error proof” way for combat divers to track time underwater.   Accompanying this unique California dial design are specially treated blue hands (also available in rose gold or matte black).

As watch technology has evolved, so has our design of this classic watch. Our 45mm Kampfschwimmer divers are equipped with a scratch resistant Sapphire crystal, thick silicone gaskets for better water resistance, and stronger wired lugs to secure your watch strap to your wrist.

We also carry the Kampfschwimmer – California in 47mm version for those watch aficionados who want a more authentic experience.
